City of le Tréport and its sister Mers-les-Bains
were an appreciated seaside resort at the end of the 19th century, with the trendy sea bathings.
Indeed the railroad offered an access fast and favored to the coast for the 1st vacationers, the "swimmers".
Although 2 cities could merge into one, le Tréport is however situated in the northern end of the Norman Alabaster coast while Mers-les-bains is already part of Picardy.
